Different Strokes Challenge

Karin Jurick has given us an interesting challenge for this month. She paired us up with another artist(we don't know who it is) and we are to paint that artist and that artist paints us. I have spent several hours painting from the photograph of the artist that is my subject.

I just wanted to capture the expression that she presented. I painted two in watercolor, one of them is on Yupo paper and the other is on Fabriano. I just can't decide which one I want to submit for the Different Folks website. Both of them are here for you see.

Good job, Peggy. I like the top one best, but the one that you feel better about is the one to choose.

Hi Peggy, There I am, nice job. I know you worked hard and I appreciate that. Are you glad it's over? lol I'll look forward to seeing which one you decide to send in.

Dianne, thank you for letting me know your choice. stay tuned.

Barbara, This was a great deal of fun. Makes me want to go to my file of photographs and try to do someone else.

They are both very, very good! The top one is realistic and colorful. The bottom one is impressionistic and her eyes are alive and looking right at you with her smiling expression. I say combine them and share them both!

Peggy, I've stopped by a couple of times to admire what you have done here. You've achieved a very soft and sensitive portrait which is really quite beautiful.

Vern, thank you for your comments on my endeavor to do a portrait.
I love the experience and want to do more, maybe someday I will achieve a likeness.

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my self-portrait. This first one (on top) seems like something painted in the French Impressionist style. It has tons of life and excitement to it! Really lovely!
