For a long time, I have liked the watercolor style of Charles Reid, especially his florals. That is the style that I am inspired to paint. It is rare for me to paint a flower that is specific.
And being specific when painting on Yupo "paper" is not required of me. This synthetic watercolor paper which is 100% polypropylene has a mind of its own.

I think this is fabulous Peggy. I am in a war zone with watercolours at the moment and take such inspiration from ones such as yours.
Liz,
Thank you. Keep up your painting.
It sure makes me happy to be an inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by my blog...I love the freedom in which you paint..

Peggy,
Great work on this one! Very Nice.
One of my favourite aspects of painting on Yupo is it still looks like it's wet, and your florals have that wonderful quality.
I'm just beginning my explorations on Yupo and it's great to see other artists working on this surface.
I simply work flat, not taping the paper down so that I can redirect the paint as needed/desired. Although I begin with a pretty tight drawing, my approach to painting on Yupo is very chaotic (compared to my watercolours on regular paper), as I try to match the unpredictability of the surface, and there's a lot of spattering of paint and clear water.
You can see a few of my Yupo watercolours here: http://murtanovski.blogspot.com/
Experimentation is key with this surface. Keep it up!
Cheers,
Milé
