I have an oil painting that I am working on and will post for you later. For now, in anticipation of the Azeala blooming, I did a watercolor on Yupo paper.
I have included a slide show to show you some of the pages that I have created for the Art House Sketch book project. www.arthousecoop.com/sketchbookproject/. The sketchbooks that are created will be shown in several galleries starting February 27 after opening at the Art House Gallery in Atlanta, Ga.
The slideshow has been removed now that the sketchbook is completed and mailed to the Art House Gallery.
This is my entry for the Different Strokes From Different Folks challenge. You can see other entries by clicking on the link in my sidebar.
The photo was posted by Karin Jurick and shows an interesting Victorian building. I have liked this type of architecture and painted one some years ago and called it a Victorian Romance.
Watercolor on AquariusII paper 11" x 14" unframed $60 Collected.
This is my submission for the January challenge for Virtual Sketch Date. You can see all of the ones who participated in the link on my sidebar starting Sunday, January 25. The photo reference was submitted by Jeanette Jobson and is of a Clementine. I tell you that because you might not know by my interpretation. This is my first fruit painting. So I bless it and release it.
It is a very cold day here as in many places today. I painted a sunny beach scene in oil and it is still on the easel. It has to dry after I do some more touchup. But also, here is a watercolor of a blue-eyed young lady that I did in watercolor.
Before I continue working on the sketchbook, I wanted to post the painting that I did for Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge.
I decided to participate in the Sketchbook Project Volume 3. This is a project of The Art House Co-0p of Atlanta, Georgia. They send you a Moleskine sketchbook and you can fill the pages with your inspiration. The deadline for sending the finished sketchbook back to them is February 15. They then will take the submitted sketchbook to selected galleries. Sounded like an interesting venture so I am letting you see.......works in progress. When I complete the sketchbook, I will post some of the pages here.
I have been learning to paint on Yupo paper with watercolors and it is a different experience! Yupo is a plastic paper and the paint works and drys a lot different than the cold press Arches paper that I am used to painting on. This from a photograph posted on Wetcanvas.com by Pete.
This is painted from a photograph reference that was on the Wetcanvas website and was posted by Paula Ford. You can see some of her landscape paintings at paulaford.com
