Pennsylvania Farm, watercolor, DSFDF challenge

The challenge from Karin Jurick this two weeks was a farm. Karin posted the photograph in black and white and we could invent the color. That is a challenge that I like.

WIP palette knife painting, Looking to the mountain

This is a 5 x 7 oil painting done working in plein air, looking toward the mountain on which I live.
Being a work in progress at this time because my time lately has been taken up with having cataract surgery. It is so interesting how clear things are these days.....someone asked if my painting style would change. I replied that I didn't think so. My style has been like this for as long as I have been painting.
And so .....I will be back at those brushes and paints very soon.

Today's Flowers, Watercolor, Yupo,

For a long time, I have liked the watercolor style of Charles Reid, especially his florals. That is the style that I am inspired to paint. It is rare for me to paint a flower that is specific.

And being specific when painting on Yupo "paper" is not required of me. This synthetic watercolor paper which is 100% polypropylene has a mind of its own.

Fall on the Lake,

As I went through some of the paintings in my studio today, I decided to post this pastel. Some of the colors just sang out to me....if colors could sing.
And,,,I will share with you that last week, I had cataract surgery. And colors are fantastic.
Someone asked me if my paintings will change. I don't believe so because my early paintings are colorful. Maybe, I am a colorist. Thanks for checking what I am doing. I am always glad to share with you.
